OMG I can’t believe thats what was cut from Venus In Furs.I see no difference between this and susan george beginning to enjoy her rape in Straw Dogs.The BBFC’s decisions boggle the mind sometimes.

The VENUS IN FURS cuts are totally nonsensical. Taken out of context, the scene actually could be interpreted as the rape victim’s attempt to distance herself emotionally from what is happening to her bu keeping her eyes closed and thinking it is someone she cares for that is making love to her instead of a lunatic raping her, something that some real-life rape victims have admitted to having to do to make it through the trauma.
It’s just one of the rare instances these days of the BBFC making a very misguided decision…

I would seriously like to meet the guys at the bbfc. these cuts are ridiculous. Plus they must know by now that these cut scenes are available online anyway and buying a region 1 disc is pretty damn easy. strange choices these guys make.
Judging by these cuts, I think the BBFC get paid off by certain companies. This is ridiculous, who the hell wants to buy cut DVDs in 2009? The BBFC are going to have to realize that with the advent of the internet, censorship died – evidenced by the fact that you can watch films like “Last House On The Left” uncut on youtube now, whereas 10 short years ago, it was going to be “outlawed forever”, lol!
