NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS – YOU CAN TELL YOURSELF IT’S ONLY A MOVIE; BUT IT WON’T HELP!
Please mind the half-dead girls between the platform edge and the train as you board a fully uncut cinematic ride into terror that was refused a certificate in 1976 and has since never been dared an official release in the UK. Two street punks, one cold-as-ice sex-crazed vicious bitch and two young virgins converge on a train ride to hell that will see the most unspeakable horrors committed in the name of kinky kicks. Imagine the worst and you’re unlikely to come close to what actually unfolds on screen, but comfort yourself with the thought that once Daddy discovers what’s been done to his daughters revenge will be merciless.
Conceived as a response to The Last House on the Left this chillingly well-made claustrophobic thriller from director Aldo Lado (and scored by Ennio Morricone) sears the brains of those who dare watch it!
Night Train Murders (cert. 18) will be released on DVD (£12.99) by Shameless Screen Entertainment on 25th February 2008. The film will be presented remastered in 1.85:1 with English 2.0 sound. Also included on the disc is a Shameless original trailer gallery.
Quotes: “Night Train Murders is a rousing trip down a track of terror” – DVDVerdict.com “an underrated classic” – DVDDrive-in.com “The cinematography is top notch with Lado delivering a very uncomfortable atmosphere sharpening the tension with the editing, creating an ultra moody blue lit interior (especially aboard the train) and the direction is absolutely fabulous” – DVDResurrections.com

Managed to pick this up instore at HMV recently thus replacing my imported version. It’s great to see a small disitributor bringing italian exploitation to UK shelves. I have been collecting exploitation cinema for many years now and my dvd library alone now runs well into the four hundreds. I really hope that you can continue to build a library of UK releases as I for one will pledge to buy any I can get my hands on to support your cause. Keep fighting the BBFC, you never know one day we might actually get to a stage where cannibal holocaust or another title of this ilk actually gets fully past the BBFC (might be a long time unless the UK is over-run by monkeys and muskrats and the current animal cruelty act is abolished)!
I have only recently discovered ‘Shameless’ and have started to collect them via Amazon. So far i have 8 dvd’s and intend to buy them all.
Night Train Murders is a film I have never seen before which is true of many of the films released by ‘Shameless’.
It is an amazing film and such a refreshing change from the dumb Hollywood movies that are so widely available.
The film is beautifully shot , has a very good cast and while some have been critical of the theme tune I found it gave the movie a very surreal edge.
The subject matter of the film, the humiliation rape and death of two young women was disturbing to watch but horror movies are about that and this film does not glamorise violence unlike so many bad american films.
I loved this film and hope ’shameless’ will release many more of these hard to find treasures.
